Nances.1.JPGNative to tropical America, this fruit (known by different names all along the region) is valued for its sweet, strong scent & very pungent flavor. The taste is not comparable to any other fruit, and to be honest it falls along the lines of love it or hate it – not one to impress a tourist with! It can be eaten raw and also cooked as a dessert in a light, sweet syrup, or prepared as a fermented beverage. It’s no surprise that fruit in general has a very special place in our cuisine; tropical fruits have many remarkable qualities, and whether it’s the seasonal kind or the common low-maintenance tropical kind, many – even though sweet already – are prepared in a delicious light syrup dessert known as ‘en miel’, an irresistible way to enjoy many of our delectable tropical fruits.
